The aim of the project:

• support migrants in their orientation in a new environment, help them with communication and familiarize them with the cultural specifics of the Czech Republic

is the provision of intercultural counseling and the realization of Community activities. The intercultural worker focuses on helping clients with the removal of barriers, especially language and cultural ones, in the integration of migrants into Czech society. Intercultural work will be provided mainly in the field in the form of assistance in negotiations with authorities, schools and other institutions. As part of the project, community activities are implemented, the aim of which is to support the maintenance of traditions, customs and holidays of foreigners and minorities and the coexistence of minorities with the majority society.

The aim of the project:

• supporting the self-sufficiency of the target group and its ability to adapt and navigate in Czech society,
• increasing the awareness of the target group about its rights and obligations.

Target group: the project is primarily aimed at supporting Ukrainian refugees who are holders of temporary protection, visas for the purpose of tolerance and persons who fled from the war conflict in Ukraine, are not entitled to temporary protection and reside in the territory of the capital city of Prague. Secondarily, the project is focused on the majority company.

The benefit of the project: Clients are offered key activities within the project: Social counseling, Intercultural work and Legal counseling. Key activities are primarily provided to Ukrainian refugees residing in the territory of the capital city of Prague and secondarily also to majority companies.

The aim of the project is to provide direct assistance to foreigners from third countries at the foreigners’ residence departments of OAMP in Ústí nad Labem, Chomutov, in the field and in places with a higher concentration of the target group. The project also aims to ensure the relocation of persons with temporary protection living in emergency accommodation facilities and to carry out investigations at these facilities.

In providing advice and assistance, emphasis is placed on the individual needs of service users and their specific life situations. The counselling, interpreting and assistance services provided lead to an improvement in the users’ awareness of their rights and obligations, of the possibilities of entering the labour market in the Czech Republic, and of the social, health and educational system in the Czech Republic.

Direct assistance is provided by consultants for foreigners, a consultant of the residence agenda, intercultural workers and assistants of the Counselling Centre for Integration.

The target group of the project are foreigners from third countries legally residing on the territory of the Czech Republic under the Act on the Residence of Foreigners 326/1999 Coll. and persons granted temporary protection. The additional group are persons granted international protection in the Czech Republic under the Act on Asylum 325/1999 Coll. and EU citizens. These are primarily foreigners living in the Ústecký Region.

The aim of the project is to provide adaptation-integration courses to selected groups of foreigners, who are obliged to undergo them according to the amendment to the Act on the Residence of Foreigners 326/1999 Coll. The courses contribute to increasing the awareness of the target group about their rights and obligations arising from their stay in the Czech Republic, familiarizing them with the basic values of the Czech Republic, with the local conditions and with the cultural customs prevailing in the Czech Republic. At the same time, any undesirable social exclusion is eliminated. Participants of the courses are provided with information about organisations and institutions providing free counselling to foreigners. One of the main objectives of the courses is to help foreigners to achieve independence, to reduce the influence of misinformation from various incompetent entities and to get out of the system of dependence of foreigners on intermediaries.

The goal of the project is to help 3 families of single-parents – foreigners in a difficult life situation. The selected families cooperate for a long time with a social worker in the social activation service for families with children of the Counseling Center for Integration, they actively fulfill the set goals of the individual plan and try to fulfill their dream of a stable life, unfortunately, for various reasons, they do not succeed in reaching the successful goal. Our clients often face multiple obstacles that hinder their progress.

The target group is families who are able to maintain an improved living situation in the long term, have the desire and residence security in the long-term stay in the Czech Republic (these are foreigners with permanent or long-term residence).

The benefit of the Safe and Stable Future project is to help overcome at least one barrier and to help achieve your goal of a safe and stable life in the shortest possible time, to respond to current and rapidly changing needs in this area.

Since 2018, the Counselling Centre for Integration, z. ú. has been regularly organizing a summer week-long suburban camp with FIE in cooperation with the ATC methods of Prof. Feuerstein, z.ú.

In 2023, the camp took place in the Lauder School on Belgická Street in Prague. The children were taught by four professional teachers of the Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) method, who used the FIE method as well as a number of other supportive, relaxation, art and movement activities.

The summer suburban camp was also attended by children with mental disabilities. The implementation of the suburban camp helped not only the disabled children themselves, but also their parents, siblings and other family members. The family members of the disabled children had the opportunity to have individual consultations with the lecturers, where they could consult about their child’s situation, about the child’s problematic behaviour and about ways of solving it.

The aim of the project was to provide intercultural assistance to migrants living in the territory of the capital city of Prague. The intercultural worker, as a person who has experience with migration himself, mediated the foreigners’ own experience with integration in a new environment. The intercultural worker provided assistance and basic information about state institutions and the rights and obligations of migrants in the Czech Republic. Community activities were also implemented within the project.

The aim of the project is supporting the self-sufficiency of Ukrainian refugees and their ability to adapt in Czech society. Increasing the awareness of the main target group about their rights and obligations. Support for orientation in Czech society.

The main target group are citizens of Ukraine fleeing the war residing in the territory of the capital city of Prague, holders of temporary protection and visa holders for the purpose of tolerance.The secondary target group consists of the majority company and additionally other foreigners legally residing in the territory of the capital city of Prague.

The benefit of the project 

As a result of the implementation of the project, the motivation and ability of the main CS – citizens of Ukraine fleeing from the war and residing in the territory of the capital city of Prague – to orientate themselves in the Czech environment will increase. The project will contribute to the inclusion of the CS major in Czech society through the KA Professional Social Counseling, Legal Counseling and Intercultural Work.

The target group of the project are holders of temporary protection and other legally residing foreigners from third countries.

The aim of the sub-project is to provide comprehensive services to foreigners from third countries and their integration into Czech society. The aim is not only to provide basic information about the system of the Czech Republic to persons with temporary protection, but also to help with the language barrier. Overcoming the language barrier between the target group and the employees of authorities and institutions is an important part of the project.

Intercultural assistants will provide basic counselling and then mediate contact to follow-up services, provide assistance, interpretation, and accompaniment during meetings with authorities (Municipal Office, Labour Office, child-protective services, etc.), schools, doctors, employers and other institutions. If necessary, they will help with the translation of information materials.

The event is organized as a part of a project for the integration of temporary protection holders co-financed by the Czech Ministry of the Interior and UNHCR.

The aim of the project is to provide basic information to persons with temporary protection through the services of intercultural assistants, to help with the language barrier, e.g. between officials and the target group, and to help in orientation in a new environment. Thanks to these services, the risk of misunderstanding or misjudging the situation is minimised. Intercultural workers will assist in accompanying, assisting and interpreting at offices, schools, doctors’ appointments, etc. The target group can then be assisted in translating information materials into their mother tongue for better understanding.

The target group of the project are temporary protection holders living in the city of Ústí nad Labem, institutions and the public.

 The aim of the sub-project are two activities that help to facilitate and improve communication between foreigners, institutions and the public. The main activity of the intercultural assistants is directed on the territory of the city of Ústí nad Labem. Intercultural assistants provide basic counselling, assist with accompaniments and meetings at offices, schools, doctors, etc. By overcoming the language barrier between the target group and other staff members, it becomes easier to orientate oneself in the new environment and prevent any misunderstandings. Intercultural assistants can also help with the translation of information materials into the native language.

The event is organized within the project “Communication is the way in 2023” focused on the integration of temporary protection holders co-financed by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic.

Representatives of individual communities are involved in the implementation of ethnic evenings (Balkan evening and others) together with the staff of the Counselling Centre for Integration. The programme of individual events is drawn up at the discretion of the community based on its interest. The common goal is to showcase their own culture and way of life through music, photographs, exhibitions, traditional food offerings, as well as a lecture about the country of origin with an opportunity to discuss issues and problems related to the life of foreigners in the Czech Republic. These evenings are mainly attended by foreigners living in the Czech Republic.

The aim of the Colourful planet festival project is to introduce the culture, customs and national differences of foreign communities living in the Czech Republic to the Czech majority society.  This way, we also help to facilitate non-violent bonding and mutual understanding between foreigners living in the Czech Republic and the majority society. The integration of foreigners into the majority society is facilitated.

The project focuses on two target groups. The first is the general public. Part of the festival’s programme is also intended especially for families with children. The second target group is foreigners from third countries legally residing in the Czech Republic. An additional group is persons with international protection in the Czech Republic, especially foreigners living in the Ústí nad Labem region, who are actively involved in the preparation and implementation of the festival.

The Centre for Support of Integration of Foreigners in the Ústí nad Labem Region is one of the authorized administrators of the Adaptation-Integration courses. According to the amendment to the Act on the Residence of Foreigners 326/1999 Coll., selected groups of foreigners must complete the course.

The implementation of adaptation-integration courses, including related counselling, contributes to increasing the awareness of the target group of their rights and obligations arising from their stay in the Czech Republic, the basic values of the Czech Republic, the local conditions and the cultural customs prevailing in the Czech Republic. At the same time, any undesirable potential social exclusion is eliminated.

Participants of the courses are provided with information about organisations and institutions providing free counselling to foreigners. One of the main objectives of the courses is to help foreigners to achieve independence, to reduce the influence of incorrect information from various incompetent subjects and to get out of the system of dependence of foreigners on intermediaries.

The aim of the project is to integrate foreigners into all areas of everyday life and to improve their status in the Czech Republic. It is therefore to support the independence of the clients and to contribute to the development of their skills and knowledge in dealing with various situations and in applying their civil rights. At the same time, the Centre for Foreigners strives to preserve their original cultural and historical identity. Through its activities, the project promotes the coexistence of foreigners and the majority society, including the strengthening of intercultural competences, improves public awareness of the issue of asylum seekers and foreigners with permanent and long-term residence, and positively influences xenophobic attitudes of Czech citizens, state and local government employees, etc.

The project activities include mainly social and legal counselling, courses of Czech language and socio-cultural orientation, lectures for foreigners and the public, integration activities, information centre services, educational and multicultural activities, field work, information campaign and platforms for integration of foreigners.

The target group of the project are third-country nationals legally residing in the Czech Republic, Ukrainian nationals with any residence status and persons with international and subsidiary protection legally residing in the Ústí nad Labem Region. Furthermore, representatives of the majority society, public administration employees, professionals and other persons who often come into touch with foreigners in their profession.

The benefit of the project is the elimination of barriers to successful integration in the form of an individualized, intensive and comprehensive offer of support. The existence of the Centre for Foreigners is essential in terms of a wide range of services for foreigners and the host society, and its presence in the region allows the coordination of local integration policy and flexible response to the current and currently rapidly changing needs in this area.

The target group of the project is adolescents between 15 and 18 years of age who have been granted temporary protection.

The aim of the project is the implementation of activities – courses of the Czech language, helping for the optimal development and integration of young people coming from Ukraine in the Ústí nad Labem Region.

Financing: Programme of People in Need: ‘Support for refugees from Ukraine in the Czech Republic’

The project is aimed at helping citizens of war-affected Ukraine who are settling in Teplice and the wider area. Support is provided for example in finding employment, housing, placing children in schools and kindergartens. The project also provides material assistance to these people.

The aim of the project is not only to provide humanitarian aid to citizens of Ukraine residing in the district of Teplice and its wider surroundings in the newly built Humanitarian Aid Centre in the centre of the city of Teplice, but also to further monitor the needs and provide assistance or mediation to these persons.

The goal of the project:
The project aims at the support of an inclusion-friendly school environment by means of the engagement of educational institutions and non-profit organizations, as well as cultural and sport institutions, with the main intention of backing both the integration of foreign minors into the Czech educational process and the development of pupils’ social and civic competence, and also improving the qualification of teaching staff.
Within the project, pupils are provided with the Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) educational programme lessons. In addition to the school educational programmes, appropriate leisure activities intended for developing pupils’ key competences are organized.
The project focuses on enhancing the competence of teaching staff, as well. Schools are offered methodical support which includes informing teachers and organizing intercultural workshops aimed at working with foreign children and the ways of cooperation with their parents. Furthermore, teachers are provided with the EIF method training accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MŠMT).

 The target group of the project are temporary protection holders living in the city of Děčín and the general public.

The aim of the sub-project is to provide through socio-cultural orientation courses (in the form of a lecture or discussion) the target group with information about their current obligations and rights in the Czech Republic and about recent changes in the law. To avoid misunderstandings, the courses will be interpreted into Ukrainian. The content of the courses will be the specific needs and requirements of the group (e.g. residence issues in the Czech Republic, employment/business in the Děčín district with extension to the Ústí nad Labem region, the Czech school system, etc.) as well as everyday situations (e.g. visiting the doctor, post office, authorities, etc.). The courses serve for the basic orientation of foreigners in the Czech environment.

 The purpose of the SOS Ukraine collection is to provide direct aid to people affected by the war in Ukraine. As part of the donation, we employ intercultural assistants in the field who provide the target group with basic information, help with language barriers in everyday life and orientation in the new environment. The intercultural workers assist the clients not only in the hostels, but also in the field, accompanying, assisting and interpreting at offices, schools, doctors’ offices, etc.  Adaptation courses of Czech language will also be opened for the target group.

The Counselling Centre for Integration, z. ú. realized 3 courses of Czech language for Ukrainian refugees in July and August 2022. Two courses were held in person (course A0 and course A1) and one course online (course A0). 26 people were supported in this small project. The educational content of the courses for beginners included basic vocabulary for getting acquainted and introducing oneself, numbers, making phone calls, finding one’s way around the city, buying food and visiting restaurants, the family area, and writing an email. The more advanced A1 course focused on expanding vocabulary within the topic areas: everyday situations, writing a work-related email, telling the time, leisure time. The implementation of the course was ensured by the subsidiary of the Counselling Centre for Integration, the social enterprise Centre Czech In.

The target group of the project is special visa and temporary protection holders from Ukraine.

 The aim of the project is to support the integration and adaptation of these people in the Ústí nad Labem Region. All activities of the intercultural assistants will be aimed at promoting self-sufficiency and orientation in society and smooth coexistence with the majority. In addition to promoting self-sufficiency, the project focuses on monitoring the needs and problems of the target group in the relevant locality, facilitating and improving communication between foreigners, institutions and the public, mediating contact between the majority and migrants and ensuring the coordination of volunteers assisting persons with special visas or temporary protection in their integration and adaptation in the Ústí nad Labem Region.

The aim of the Colourful planet festival project is to introduce the culture, customs and national differences of foreign communities living in the Czech Republic to the Czech majority society.  This way, we also help to facilitate non-violent bonding and mutual understanding between foreigners living in the Czech Republic and the majority society. The integration of foreigners into the majority society is facilitated.

The project focuses on two target groups. The first is the general public. Part of the festival’s programme is also intended especially for families with children. The second target group is foreigners from third countries legally residing in the Czech Republic. An additional group is persons with international protection in the Czech Republic, especially foreigners living in the Ústí nad Labem region, who are actively involved in the preparation and implementation of the festival.

The aim of the project is to provide direct assistance to foreigners from third countries at the foreigners’ residence departments of OAMP in Ústí nad Labem, Chomutov and in the field, in places with a higher concentration of the target group. Emphasis is placed on the individual needs of service users and their specific life situations. The provided counselling, interpreting and assistance services lead to improvement of the users’ awareness of their rights and obligations. In addition, users are informed about the possibilities of employment in the labour market in the Czech Republic, about the social, health and educational system in the Czech Republic. Direct assistance is provided by consultants for foreigners, a consultant of the residence agenda, intercultural workers and assistants of the Counselling Centre for Integration.

The target group of the project are foreigners from third countries legally residing on the territory of the Czech Republic under the Act on the Residence of Foreigners 326/1999 Coll. The additional group are persons granted international protection in the Czech Republic under the Act on Asylum 325/1999 Coll.

The main benefit of the project is to increase the awareness of the target group and to eliminate obstacles to successful integration.

Representatives of individual communities are involved in the implementation of ethnic evenings (Latino evening, Balkan evening and others) together with the staff of the Counselling Centre for Integration. The programme of individual events is drawn up at the discretion of the community based on its interest. The common goal is to showcase their own culture and way of life through music, photographs, exhibitions, traditional food offerings, as well as a lecture about the country of origin with an opportunity to discuss issues and problems related to the life of foreigners in the Czech Republic. These evenings are mainly attended by foreigners living in the Czech Republic.

Cílem projektu je představit české majoritní společnosti kulturu, zvyky a národnostní odlišnosti komunit cizinců žijících v ČR, a tím napomoci k nenásilnému sblížení a vzájemnému porozumění a zároveň usnadnit cizincům žijícím v ČR integraci do majoritní společnosti.

Projekt se zaměřuje na dvě cílové skupiny:  1) širokou veřejnost a část programu je určena zejména rodinám s dětmi, 2) cizinci ze třetích zemí pobývající na území ČR legálně v režimu zákona o pobytu cizinců 326/1999 Sb. Doplňkovou skupinou jsou osoby s udělenou mezinárodní ochranou v ČR podle zákona o azylu 325/1999  Sb. Především se jedná o cizince žijící v Ústeckém kraji, kteří se i aktivně zapojují do přípravy a realizace festivalu.

Cílem projektu je poskytování přímé asistence cizincům ze třetích zemí na odděleních pobytu cizinců OAMP a v terénu, v místech s vyšší koncentrací cílové skupiny. Důraz je kladen na individuální potřeby uživatelů služeb a jejich specifické životní situace. Poskytované služby vedou ke zlepšení informovanosti uživatelů o jejich právech a povinnostech. Dále jsou uživatelé informování o možnostech uplatnění na pracovním trhu v ČR, o sociální, zdravotním a vzdělávacím systému v ČR. Přímá asistence je poskytována konzultanty pro cizince, konzultantem pobytové agendy, interkulturními pracovníky a asistenty Poradny pro integraci.

Cílová skupina: Cílovou skupinou projektu jsou cizinci ze třetích zemí pobývající na území ČR legálně v režimu zákona o pobytu cizinců 326/1999 Sb. The project aims at the integration of foreigners into all areas of the everyday life, as well as the enhancement of their position in the Czech Republic. Thus, this includes supporting the clients’ self-reliance, and contributing to the development of their knowledge and skills when handling various situations and exercising their civil rights. Simultaneously, the Centre for Foreigners attempts to sustain their original cultural and historical identity. With its activities, the project supports the co-existence between the foreigners and the majority society, including the improvement of intercultural competence, raises the public awareness of issues related to recognized refugees and foreigners with permanent and long-term residence permit, and eliminates the xenophobic attitudes of Czech citizens, state administration and local authority staff and the like.

The project activities include social and legal counselling, Czech language and sociocultural orientation courses, lectures for both foreigners and the Czech public, integration activities, information centre services, educational and multicultural activities, fieldwork, information campaign and foreigners’ integration platforms.

The target group of the project consists of third country nationals, EU citizens and persons granted international protection legally residing in the territory of the Ústí nad Labem Region. The group also includes members of the majority society, civil servants, experts and other professions who often get in touch with foreigners.

The project contributes to eliminating the barriers of successful integration by means of an individualized, intensive and complex support offer. With its huge range of services for both foreigners and their host society, the existence of the Centre for Foreigners is of major importance. Its engagement in the region enables the coordination of the local integration policy and a flexible response to the present and currently dynamic needs in this field.

The goal of the project:
The project aims at the support of an inclusion-friendly school environment by means of the engagement of educational institutions and non-profit organizations, as well as cultural and sport institutions, with the main intention of backing both the integration of foreign minors into the Czech educational process and the development of pupils’ social and civic competence, and also improving the qualification of teaching staff.
Within the project, pupils are provided with the Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) educational programme lessons. In addition to the school educational programmes, appropriate leisure activities intended for developing pupils’ key competences are organized.
The project focuses on enhancing the competence of teaching staff, as well. Schools are offered methodical support which includes informing teachers and organizing intercultural workshops aimed at working with foreign children and the ways of cooperation with their parents. Furthermore, teachers are provided with the EIF method training accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MŠMT).

Project description: The main aim of the project is to enhance the integration process of foreign children into ordinary classes of primary schools. The intention of the project is to facilitate the return to schools of foreign children without an adequate economic background. The project involves families in material need, families with multiple children and families affected by the coronavirus crisis who have a lack of finance needed for purchasing school supplies for their children.

The financial donation is prevention of social exclusion of children from socio-culturally disadvantaged backgrounds.

Target group: Disadvantaged and vulnerable children aged between 6 and 15 living in the Czech Republic who are in long-term active cooperation with NGOs.

Do cílové skupiny nespadají občané EU ani státní příslušníci třetích zemí, kteří podali žádost o mezinárodní ochranu, o níž nebylo dosud pravomocně rozhodnuto.

The “Center for the support of the integration of foreigners in the Ústí nad Labem region“ project is funded by the EU through the National Programme of the Asylum, Immigration, and Integration fund and of the budget of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic.

The goal of the project is to integrate foreigners into all areas of everyday life and improve their position in the Czech Republic. Hence it aims at supporting the self-sufficiency of clients and to contribute to the development of their abilities and skills when handling various situations and when applying their civil rights. The Center for Foreigners at the same time strives to preserve their original cultural and historical identities. The project’s activities support the coexistence of foreigners with the general public, including strengthening of inter-cultural competences, improving public awareness in the area of refugees and foreigners with permanent and long-term residency permits, and positively influencing the xenophobic opinions of some Czech citizens, government employees etc.

The project’s activities notably include social and legal counseling, Czech language courses and socio-cultural courses, lectures for foreigners and the general public, integration activities, information center services, educational and multicultural activities.

The target group of the project consists of citizens of third countries and persons with international protection who legally reside in the Ústí nad Labem region, as well as the local public. The Center for Foreigners focuses its activities on all aspects of the integration of foreigners, both in terms of working with specific clients and in terms of activities that are aimed at affecting the policies and societal atmosphere in the area of refugees and migration.

The contributions of the project include the elimination of barriers preventing successful integration via an individualized, intensive, and complex offer of support. The existence of the Center for Foreigners is fundamental from the perspective of the wide range of services offered to foreigners as well as to the general public and its operation in the region allows the coordination of local integration policies and facilitates flexible reactions to the currently rapidly developing needs in this area.
